Benin Wildlife
The Benin "Protection of Nature" series was minted from 2014 through 2017 in Germany by MCI Mint. The series depicts a variety of African wildlife such as elephants, rhinos, zebras, and lions and celebrates the conservation of nature. Each coin was produced with a mintage of only 5,000 pieces and is delivered in “Proof-like” quality with a purity of .999 FS.
Design
Obverse: The obverse of the 1 Oz coins display the National Arms of the Republic of Benin. Above the coat of arms is the text "Republique Du Benin". The denomination of 1000 Francs CFA is inscribed below the coat of arms.
Reverse: The reverse shows an image of the animal in it's natural habitat. Twelve smaller images of the animal surround the central image. Also inscribed are the terms "Protection de la Nature", "1 OZ Ag .999", and the name of the animal. The date of issue is inscribed below the central image.
