Government issued shoebill stork silver bullion coins from Congo Democratic Republic

Congo DR Shoebill

The Shoebill silver coin series authorized by the Congo Democratic Republic was first issued in 2021. The series focuses on the Shoebill stork, a bird native to eastern central Africa. Scottsdale Mint has been contracted to produce the series and each coin in the series has a limited mintage with the design changing each year. The worldwide mintage limit for these coins ranges from 25,000 to 50,0000.

The series is minted by Scottsdale Mint using 1 troy ounce of .999 silver. In addition to this, each coin will come individually encapsulated in a hard plastic, protective case. The coin is backed by the Congolese government, with a face value of 1000 francs.
