Constitution Mint vintage 1 Oz silver bullion rounds

Constitution Mint

Constitution Mint was a mint based in Provo, Utah that was in operation from 1973 to 1977. During the course of its existence, it went by several different names. During the 1970's it was known as Constitution Mint. In the early 1980's it became Silver Refiners Inc. It changed to Liberty Mint in the mid-80's finally becoming known as Quality Silver Bullion (QSB) based in Orem, Utah. The Provo businesses were "shady" but the silver bars and rounds they produced contained the proper purity and content reflected in their markings. QSB is still in operation today. The company marked their products most often by inscribing "Constitution Mint" on the round or bars. Some of the larger bars are marked with CMI.

Constitution mint mostly produce silver rounds depicting the USS Constitution on the obverse and the text from the US Constitution on the reverse. These were minted predominantly in 1973 and 1974 and can be found in both 1 Oz and 1/2 Oz sizes. A few variant Constitution mint rounds include the date 1984 and also undated rounds. In the mid 1980's Liberty mint produced rounds with the same designs that were undated.  The possibility exists that the later dated and undated Constitution Mint rounds were produced early on by Liberty Mint.  All of their products produced by Constitution Mint were minted with .999 Fine Silver.
