Dahlonega Mint

Dahlonega Mint began operations in 1981 and was located in the town of Rossville, Georgia. In the early to mid-1980s, Dahlonega Mint commissioned silver art bars to be sold under its name. Many of these were celebratory, commemorating events and holidays such as Father's Day, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and Christmas. A few of the bars celebrated individuals like the Pope and Elvis Presley. In the late 1980s, Dahlonega Mint began focusing more on sports card collectibles. They created sports cards of famous players and often sold them through their house organ called "THE COIN & SPORTS CARD WHOLESALER". The company ran afoul of the law since at times it used trademarked images without licensing. Dahlonega Mint disbanded in 2002.

The silver art bars and rounds commissioned by the company were predominately 1 Oz in size. They also minted a few 5-gram bars. Only one round was ever minted, a 1985 Christmas round. These products were minted with .999 Fine Silver. The mint which produced them is unknown.
