Equatorial Guinea Giraffe

The Equatorial Guinea Giraffe coin series is a newer offering from the Scottsdale Mint on behalf of Equatorial Guinea. The coins feature a different design of the giraffe in its native habitat. Each new release in the Equatorial Guinea Giraffe coin collection depicts giraffes navigating the Savannah. 

All coins in the series feature proof-like features. Proof-like bullion coins often mimic the appearance of proof coins, with frosted elements to the design set and a mirrored appearance for the background field. The coins in the series are minted with .999 FS.

Design

Obverse: The obverse features the Coat of Arms for Equatorial Guinea. The center shield depicts a large baobab tree. Six six-pointed stars arch above the shield. A banner below the shield contains the words "UNIDAD PAZ JUSTICIA". The background mimics the skin of a giraffe with its texture. The upper inscription around the outer circle bears the name "REPUBLIC OF GUINEA ECUATORIAL" while the lower inscription denotes the denomination of "1000 FRANCOS CFA". 

Reverse: The reverse features giraffes in their native habitat. The image changes from year to year. The upper right quadrant of the outer circle specifies the name of the series "GIRAFFE" followed by the year. The weight of "ONE OUNCE" is inscribed at the bottom while the composition of "999 FINE SILVER" is on the left.
