Hoffman & Hoffman

Hoffman & Hoffman was a prolific producer of bars and rounds in the 1970s and early 1980s. Despite its popularity with collectors, very little seems to be known about the company's history. They mainly produced poured and cast bars in 5 Oz, 10 Oz, 50 Oz, and 100 Oz weights. The hallmark is a 4-pointed star circumscribed by a circle inset in a hexagon. Surrounding the image are the words "HOFFMAN AND HOFFMAN".  Throughout their existence, they also minted several 1 Oz rounds, the most famous of which is the stylized galloping unicorn in the early 1980s. The 1 Oz rounds produced in the 1970s had a silver trade unit reverse that is distinguished by a thick "U" supporting the arms and an upper inscription that reads "THE INTERNATIONAL". Several obverses are found with this reverse. All of the products minted by Hoffman & Hoffman were minted with .999 Fine Silver.
