Kennesaw Mint began operations in 1974 and was based in Marietta, Georgia. In 1981, it opened branches in both Mississippi and Florida. By 1983, it was bankrupt and ceased operations. In an interesting side note, rumors circulate within the coin community that this mint would purchase stolen precious metals for use in minting its products. These claims have not been proven.
During it's time in operation, the mint produced several styles of bars and rounds. It produced larger size 25 Oz bars. Many of the rounds produced depict, the General, a locomotive with ties to the Kennesaw area. Another round features a dragon. Several different reverses were used on these rounds. The products were minted with .999 Fine Silver.
• The General 1 Oz rounds (1976, 1981, and undated)
• Undated Dragon 1 Oz rounds
