Oxford Assaying and Refining vintage 1 Oz silver rounds

Oxford Assaying and Refining

Oxford Assaying and Refining was established in 1980 and is headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. The company also has locations in Fairbanks and Nome. Oxford has several lines of business servicing the precious metals industry. It refines gold, silver, platinum scrap, and ore. Oxford offers full-service custom minting in Alaska and handles the process from the design phase through the packaging. Finally, it operates retail coin stores out of its offices.

Throughout its history, Oxford has minted a few bars and rounds under its name. The 1 Oz bars minted in the early 1980s are encountered most frequently. The few 1 Oz rounds minted by Oxford have themes related to Alaska such as polar bears or eagles. Those rounds were minted in the 1990s. All products minted by Oxford are made with .999 Fine Silver and have a BU or proof-like finish.
