The Silver Mint was a mint in operation during the 1970's. Despite the quantity of collectible silver it produced, very little is known about the company itself, either to it's location or the time frame of operation. The company primarily produced sets of 20 gram bars with different themes. Some of the more common ones include Flags of Nations, Indian Chiefs, Audubon Prints, and George Washington.
There is only one set of collectible rounds produced by the Silver Mint. The designer of the rounds was Vincent DiGerlando and they commemorate the Chinese Zodiac. This perhaps is one of the earliest Lunar series produced. The rounds came in a wood-grained presentation box and were limited to 5000. Each round had a serial number inscribed on its edge. The sets were minted with .999 Fine Silver and some had 24K gold electroplating. The exact date of production is unknown but it would have been in the 1972 to 1974 range.
