State Mint Corp vintage 1 Oz silver bullion rounds

State Mint Corp

Originally known as State Mint Jewelers, the company incorporated in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1982, and later moved to Crossville, Tennessee. Not many specifics are known concerning this phase of the company, but it can probably be assumed that they were a small jewelry store similar to other jewelry stores. In 1989 they changed their name to State Mint Corp and continued as such until closing in 2000. .

The only known silver products minted by State Mint Corp was a set of 16 proof-life rounds issued to commemorate the bicentennial of the state of Tennessee from 1796 to 1996. The rounds produced were as follows: Davy Crockett, Andrew Johnson, Battle Of Chattanooga, James K. Polk, Alvin C. York, Tennessee Centennial, Andrew Jackson, The Flag Of Tennessee, Mockingbird, Cherokee Indians, Iris, Gen. Robert R. Neyland, Capitol Buildings, Memphis, Tennessee Walking Horse, and Reelfoot Lake.  Rounds with dates as early as 1988 exist and the set appears to have been produced over the span of a few years. The rounds are very difficult to locate and were minted in .999 Fine Silver. .
