El Paso Mint vintage 1 Oz and fractional silver bullion rounds

El Paso Mint

Little is known about the history of the company.  They began operations in 1973 and ceased by 1976. As the name indicates, they were based in El Paso, Texas. During their existence, they only produced two known rounds. In 1974, they minted a round with an eagle sitting on a globe. The reverse depicts a loose representation of the reverse of the State Seal of Texas. This round, though still uncommon, is the one most often found. The only other round minted by the El Paso Mint was a 1/2 Oz round issued in 1973. Both rounds were minted with .999 Fine Silver.
