1 Oz Chautauqua Time Series Grain of Sand Round BU

There are five rounds issued in the Time series by Chautauqua Silver Works.  This thought-provoking series deals with how time is perceived.  Mintages were 10,000 for the first two rounds and the series and 5,000 for the final three.  This is the first round in the series.  The rounds are minted with a proof-like finish.

Obverse: The central image on the obverse is the image of an hourglass filling a skull. Atop the hourglass is a baby carriage, indicating early life, while the human skull spews sand into an open grave with a headstone marked “Avery Bawdy,” indicating the comprehensive journey from life to death with the sands of time. Two clocks are present, one on either side. The left clock bears the initials "RWK".  The inscription at the outer circle to the top reads "A GRAIN OF SAND" while the bottom inscription states "AN INCREMENT OF SHARED TIME".  

Reverse: The reverse of the round includes the common design element and logo used on many rounds from Chautauqua Silver Works. The bullseye design includes features of a rifle's scope. Inside the bullseye, the inscription "BULLSEYE AG 47" can be found. The weight, purity, and content of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" surrounds the bullseye. The upper inscription bears the name of the mint "CHAUTAUQUA SILVER WORKS"  and the lower inscription contains the motto "ONE MORE OUNCE, ONE LESS FETTER". 

Edge: The edge is reeded.  There is a flat surface at the bottom bearing a 4-digit serial number.
