1988 1 Oz Isle of Man Manx Cat PF

The Isle of Man began the cat series in 1988 and issued one yearly until 2016. Each year a different cat is pictured on the reverse. This was the first year of the series.

Obverse: The obverse depicts a right-facing image of the young Queen Elizabeth. To the left is the title "ELIZABETH II" while the country and date of "ISLE OF MAN • 1988" can be found on the right. The lower edge of the bust contains the initials of the designer "RDM" ( David Maklouf ). Underneath the bust are the initials of Pobjoy Mint "PM".

Reverse: The reverse depicts a Manx cat standing on a roof with a castle in the background. ship on the horizon.  The Isle of Man crest is engraved at the top and birds are depicted immediately below it. The purity of ".999" is located at the left. Underneath the image is the "1 CROWN" denomination and the weight and composition of "FINE SILVER 1 OUNCE".
