    Description

This round was produced by the AOCS group ostensibly on behalf of the Lakota people. A website called FreeLakotaBank.com  was created to distribute the rounds. Dated proof silver rounds, 1 Oz in size, were produced from 2008 through 2013. Undated BU silver rounds and 1 Oz copper rounds were also produced during these years. Silver rounds had a denomination of 50 while copper rounds had a denomination of two. The mintage of the rounds is unknown but AOCS worked closely with the North American Mint with the rounds it produced. Uncommon round!

Obverse: The obverse features Chief Crazy Horse dressed in ceremonial gear. The word "LAKOTA" arches over the top. The date of "2009" is positioned to the left.

Reverse: The reverse depicts a left-facing bison with the website "WWW.FREELAKOABANK.COM" inscribed beneath it. The upper inscription reads "CURRENCY OF THE FREE AND INDEPENDENT NATION". The lower half of the round contains the "FIFTY" denomination, the weight and composition of “ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER”, and a lower inscription stating "AOCS APPROVED • © 2008 RJG".
