2010 1 Oz Highland Mint Medjugorje Queen of Peace Round BU

The Miraculous Medal Medjugorje Round was designed and released in 2010.  The rounds were created and are sold to support the Catholic ministry of Caritas located in Birmingham, Alabama.  Additional information about the rounds can be found HERE. Rounds exist for all years from 2010 to the current year, except for 2016 and 2019, and are minted in 1/10 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/2 Oz, and 1 Oz sizes. The finishes for all sizes include both Proof and BU. The Caritas organization has contracted with the Highland Mint to produce the rounds upon request. The mintage varies based on ordering volume, but rounds from many years are scarce. 

Obverse: The obverse features a reproduction of the obverse of the original miraculous medal. Images of the Apparition Mountain and the Cross Mountain are located on either side. The name "MEDJUGORJE" and the phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST" are inscribed at the top. The date "2010" can be found at the lower right. 

Reverse: The reverse features a reproduction of the reverse of the original miraculous medal. Images of the Bedroom of Apparitions and the Field of Apparitions are located on either side. The phrase "QUEEN OF PEACE" arches across the top with the website "MEJ.COM" inscribed at the bottom. The weight of "ONE TROY OUNCE" is located to the left of the website, while the composition of ".999 FINE SILVER" is inscribed to the right.
